Nina is currently completing her Honours year in the Bachelor of Music in Composition at the Faculty of the VCA and Music (Southbank) Melbourne, Australia under the guidance of Associate Professor Mark Pollard, Head of Composition at the School of Music, VCAM, Faculty of the University of Melbourne, Dr. Johanna Selleck (Honorary Fellow) and Julian Yu (Fellow).
Nina’s past projects include orchestral works, string quartets, solo pieces for piano, french horn, guitar, electronic works, music for film and animations, works for jazz ensembles, big band, italian jazz and ambient works. Recent projects include a libretto and original music for a children’s opera.
Recently completed projects include composing an original score for film “Oh, That’ll Be and Antique One Day” with graduate Victoria Stanford of VCA’ s School of Film and Television which premiered at ACMI, November 2009. This was awarded Best Comedy Film.
She is the recipient of the Alan C Rose Memorial Trust Scholarship in 2010.
Nina was awarded the 3MBS Monash Composition Prize for best result in Composition. In 2008, Nina’s string quartet “String Theory” was premiered and performed by the Tessna Quartet and also was awarded fourth place in the Australian National Songwriting Contest in the Instrumental Section for “Capri”.
She has appeared with the Monash Philharmonic Orchestra and has been musical director and creator of many school productions.
